Hello everyone!! there are so many books being published regularly but there are also so many books that have been published already but were so overhyped that any book lover tends to pick them. but do you know that there are some overrated books that will never be worth your valuable time? yes, you guessed it right today I'm going to tell you about those 5 books that can be a big disappointment for you.

  1. The Catcher in the Rye

The Catcher in the Rye is a novel by J.D. Salinger published in 1951. The novel details two days in the life of 16-year-old Holden Caulfield after he has been expelled from prep school. Confused and disillusioned, Holden searches for truth and rails against the “phoniness” of the adult world.

this book can never be worth your time because There have been many complaints made against The Catcher in the Rye. Many people feel that the book contains inappropriate offensive language, sexual content, occultism, and violence (“Banned Books Project”). Vulgarity is one complaint The Catcher in the Rye gets over and over again.

hence, I will never recommend this book to any reader as this book can turn out to be a huge disappointment.

2. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a novel written by Mark Haddon and published on 1 May 2003. this book follows the story of Christopher Boone, a 15-year-old, who is exceptional at Maths but finds people confusing. The play opens with Christopher discovering a dead dog in his neighbor, Mrs. Shears’, garden.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time has been challenged and banned in several schools, primarily due to complaints regarding “profane” language. Some parents have also requested the book be removed from school reading lists because they believe it promotes atheism.

this book is quite overhyped everywhere but I will not suggest reading it as it contains offensive and abusive language.

3. Life of pi

Life of Pi is a Canadian philosophical novel by Yann Martel published in 2001. The protagonist is Piscine Molitor “Pi” Patel, an Indian boy from Pondicherry who explores issues of spirituality and metaphysics from an early age.

It’s a really boring and excessively brutal story. The first parts of the novel read like an introduction to zookeeping, giving way to a tedious memoir of Pi’s religious epiphanies. On the lifeboat, Pi provides far more detail than you need or want.

this book even turned out to be a movie. Ang Lee took an ‘unfilmable novel’ and turned it into a memorable movie in his 2012 adaptation. The film version of Life of Pi surpasses the novel with its beautiful use of computer graphic imagery (CGI).

hence, I will not recommend this book to anyone as it will waste a lot of your time but I can definitely say one thing everyone must watch the movie based on this book as it was far better than the book.

4. The Time Traveler’s Wife

The Time Traveler’s Wife is a novel by American author Audrey Niffenegger, published in 2003. It is a love story about Henry, a man with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel unpredictably, and about Clare, his wife, an artist who has to cope with his frequent absences.

The novel is 518 pages long and includes many events and characters. Though its story is engrossing, the book has some problems. I think the scientific explanations for Henry’s condition that are given in the book are weak. this book is also High, for explicit sexual material and lots of it.

hence, I think I don't find this book to be realistic and there were many situations where I found that this book was truly overhyped and weird.

5. The secret

The Secret is a 2006 self-help book by Rhonda Byrne, based on the earlier film of the same name. It is based on the belief in the pseudoscientific law of attraction, which claims that thoughts can change a person’s life directly.

this book has just stated some false facts that can actually blow your mind away. It tells you that thinking positive thoughts will make good things happen and thinking negative thoughts will make bad things happen. As if the universe will bend to the will of your thoughts without actual action on your part. For example — it literally says, “quantum physicists will tell you the universe was created from thought.” The hell they will. They’ll tell you to get lost because you’re a crazy person and that is not how quantum physics works.

I would not recommend this super hyped book to anyone to read as it can only waste your time.

Conclusion:->

These 5 books have been written in such a manner that you will never find them to be interesting. these books will give you some boring and dumb lessons which will not be worth your time. hence, I would definitely not recommend these 5 overhyped books to anyone as they will not be worth your valuable time.
